Discover a little of our

history

Ayara was born when Layara (founder) was born in Brazil from an unnecessary C-section which almost killed her. Layara grows up hearing that when she gets pregnant the best option for her is book a c-section and never, never screaming during labor cause doctors would never treat her well.

She started to study obstetric nursing and got a scholarship to London, where she was able to attend a beautiful natural birth. Immediately, she asked herself why most women have a c-section if natural births are so powerful? What is happening with women's bodies? Are women's bodies not good enough anymore? Those questions turned into her 10 years persona mission, which brought her to study and worked in South America, Europe and Asia in search for answers on these questions. Layara left her small village in Brazil, alone, to come to London and start Ayara from scratch.

Ayara was born from the dissatisfaction to know that reality in healthcare system around the world is making pregnant women believe their bodies are not good enough or capable of delivering babies naturally without help of medical interventions. Women are treated like a number for a hospital protocol. Ayara exists to give pregnant womens voice and let them be in charge of their pregnancy, birth and postpartum needs.
